William "Bill" Seipel Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Charles Seipel, on July 15th, 2026. At age 81, he was still so full of life, enjoying his time with family and friends on Lake Holcombe, Wisconsin.

He was born to Geraldine and Leroy Seipel on May 14th, 1945, in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1963, and achieved his bachelor’s degree from UW-Eau Claire in Business and Geography. He served 6 years in the Army Reserves, while starting his full-time career as an Industrial Engineer at Uniroyal in Eau Claire. He married Karen Vivian Hanson in 1970. Together they raised three children. He later transitioned to payroll manager at Uniroyal, and then retired as the insurance director at Uniroyal/Michelin. He finished his career working as a financial advisor at AAL/Thrivent Financial, helping others to plan for their future.

After retirement, he and Karen started wintering in South Texas, where they enjoyed time with many new friends, golfing, and relaxing in the sunshine.

He was a lifelong member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, as well as various groups including the Eau Claire Male Chorus, Holcombe Madrigals, and the Lake Holcombe Lions Club. He thoroughly enjoyed many leisure activities, highlighted by his 40+ years of annual Canada fishing trips, playing cribbage, fast pitch/slow pitch softball, bowling & golfing (can’t forget his hole in 1!) He loved music (doo wop in particular), and most importantly he loved all things Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. There were not many things he didn’t care for, except the MN Vikings.

He leaves behind his wife Karen of 56 years, their 3 children: Billy (Amy) Seipel, Jason Seipel, Kimberly (Andrew) Senior, 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Chase) Magruder, Abbigail (Trevor) Seipel, Erynn (Jacob) Rheinschmidt, Emma (Aiden) Ennett, Isaiah, Malachi, & Jonah Seipel, Parker & Mason Turnbull, Bodhi Senior, and 4 great grandchildren: Aven, Elowen, Rylen & Riven. Along with brothers Paul (Lynn) Seipel, Jim (Cathy) Seipel, & many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, August 1st from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at 1717 Devney Dr, Altoona, WI, 54720 at the Celebration of Life Center, with a Life Tribute beginning at 1:30 p.m. With a Reception to follow the Life Tribute until 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to the Lake Holcombe Lions Club or the Eau Claire Male Chorus.
